Small businesses turned upside down by recent lockdowns have a lifeline provided by government. The 2021 COVID-19 Business Support Grants of $5,000 will be available to eligible small and medium businesses across all industries across the state.
Small Business Financial Counselling Service Southern Queensland welcomes the announcement from the Queensland Government of extended support to small and medium businesses affected by COVID-19 lockdowns and lockdowns in other states.
With this very supportive announcement on Monday 2 August, Mrs. Jenny Whip, Chief Executive Officer for Small Business Financial Counselling Service Southern Queensland, said “our small business financial counsellors have received a high number of enquiries. Businesses are reaching out to discuss existing and new assistance programs as well as discussing the ongoing COVID impacts on their business. The financial impacts since the pandemic’s arrival have been long-lasting on many businesses and these payments will certainly provide cashflow support to help them adapt to evolving circumstances.”
The team of small business financial counsellors spread geographically across Southern Queensland, have dedicated Tourism and COVID-19 counsellors. I would encourage any small to medium businesses who would like to talk through the impacts they are experiencing with their business or require support with accessing government assistance packages, to contact the office on 1300 732 777. Details of our small business team are available at www.rfcssq.org.au.
